August in Tonga

August 2010

It has been a beautiful month in Tonga. We have been here two wonderful months and have experienced a Pioneer Parade, a feast with a cooked pig on our table, several training meetings, schools, walking in neighborhoods, darling people, beautiful rainbows, harmonizing voices, delicious garden foods, missionary experiences, and enjoying each other.

We are standing in our backyard with the Tongan Temple grounds behind us.

And they're off...

We dropped Mom and Dad off at the airport today around 6pm. They both took 2 suitcases and 2 carry-ons. The suitcases weighed in at 49lbs, 49lbs, 50lbs, and 50lbs. Needless to say they were packed to the max. Once they made it through security, they found out their flight was delayed an hour. Let's hope they make the connecting flight, or else they will be stuck here another week.

Good luck Elder and Sister Bain. We love you and can't wait to hear all your adventures.

Tonga Here They Come!

MTC Experience

After getting set apart as missionaries on Sunday night, we headed to the MTC on Monday morning, June 7, 2010. It was a fabulous experience for us. We were assigned to a district with eight other senior missionaries. The MTC was a real help for our mission preparation. We're ready to go. Look where we're headed.......

Spring Break in St. George

Hi kids-

Let's see if I can work the blog. We just received a tentative itinerary from the church. We depart June 15, 2010 at 7:45 pm for Los Angeles and board at 11:15 pm in LA for Tonga. We arrive at 8:15 am, June 17th, in Tonga.

We need to get several things in order for our Visa to be turned into the church travel in the next two weeks.

We received a binder from the church office to be read and learned by June 4th. We will have a training meeting all day on June 4th at the church office building.

My last day teaching is May 27th, so I am hoping to do bits and pieces each day.

We look forward to any suggestions you might have to help us organize.
